National Society Children of the American Colonists
Membership Application Instructions

1. Write to the Registrar General for application and instructions.

2. The same requirements for ancestor's service apply to the Children of the American Colonists as are required by the Daughters of the American Colonists and the Sons of the American Colonists. Application completion must also follow the same Guidelines.

3. All applications must include a copy of the birth certificate of the child and suitable proof for each generation thereafter. If a line is used from a verified DAC or SAC application, a copy of the verified lineage paper is required, including the National Number of the member referenced on the child's application. If a copy of an NSDAC or NSSAC paper is sent as documentation, it is unnecessary to send copies of individual proofs. The application paper must, however, be completed for the ancestor, with all proofs for each generation detailed on the document,  i.e. NN#0000 Jane Doe citing bc, dc, mc. The application being used as proof must have original sourced information and may not reference another application.

4. Two sets of application papers printed on 8 ½” x 11” good quality paper will be acceptable. After the President General has signed the verified application, a copy will be returned to the State. The original will be kept with the permanent National records.

5. Make sure the application paper has the name, address, phone number, and email of the child's parent/guardian. (Often, a grandparent or other relative completes the papers.) The information on the parent/guardian is necessary for future use as a contact to reach the child.

6. Papers must be endorsed by two members – NSDAC/NSSAC & NSCAC. One adult member of one of the two organizations plus one NSCAC member of the Chapter/State the applicant is joining. If the prospective member is joining where there is no home state society, the Registrar General will assign the new member to his/her home state society with a * denoting a “member-at-large” status until a society is formed in the new member’s home state. The DAC/SAC endorser is needed and a member of the Registrar General’s home state will sign as the CAC endorser.  Information will be shared with the applicant to complete the Name & Address of the CAC State President.

7. Send your application with the proofs to the Registrar General, who will check them for acceptability. Your check must accompany the papers and the proofs. Proofs will not be returned or filed. DO NOT SEND ORIGINALS. The verified application will then be sent to the President General for signature and processing.

8. The Application fee is $40.00. This is a one-time fee for National Life Membership and includes postage and processing. There are no annual dues at the National level, and members will retain NSCAC membership until age 22. Make out a check payable to the Treasurer General, NSCAC. The Registrar General forwards application fees to the Treasurer General.

**Retain a copy of the returned verified application, which can be used to transfer membership to NSDAC or NSSAC by the age of 22.

Send the application with all proofs and the application fee of to:
